About Cruiserweight

Born from an eclectic musical taste and a passion for music, cruiserweight decided to jump into the musical morass and release a couple of CDs. Crazy? Maybe …In three months in the second half of 007, the label was begun and has subsequently released three albums before the end of the year, and has plans for one more.

About the artists

Christopher Ernst – Little Pieces
Christopher Ernst is a Brisbane based singer-songwriter. His mini-album gives light to his sometimes melancholy, always mesmerizing voice over bothdelicate finger-picking and some fierce slide guitar sounds.

Chris has had great support at community stations and has had Triple J play with a number of songs – 2 already from this release (Friendships Grow Old and Love’s a Tough Game).

Last year he played Festival of the Sun and Woodford festival - where the response was so good they asked him back this year – he also played the summer festival at Queenscliff.

Rogerthat – The Vanilla Gorillas
Rogerthat have been stinging to get their second mini-album out and it’ll finally be released on October 29 007. Their album The Vanilla Gorillas – the bands nickname – reflects their liveliness.

Hanging On got a run on Triple J and picks up plenty of play at community stations as well.

Live they’re gaining a cracking following, and on their last tour they headlined a run of their own gigs up the East Coast then supported the Beautiful Girls and Ash Grunwald.

Lucky Fonz III – Lucky Fonz III
The debut and self titled album for the Dutch singer/songwriter, Lucky Fonz III is Cruiserweights first release (CW001). In June 007, it co-incided with the Lucky Fonz III/The Beautiful Girls tour and some local radio appearances.

Fonz, sold out 4 independent pressings of this album, and regularly sells out his own shows in his homeland and is the support of choice, for pretty much every indie artist (worth their salt) touring the Netherlands. His new album Life Is Short has received raving reviews in and will be released in early next year.
